ABOUT US
The Alliance of Progressive Voters is a political club in the senior retirement community of Frisco Lakes, located in Frisco, Texas. We welcome all Frisco Lakes residents for fun, fellowship, activism, and discussions of top issues facing Texas and the nation. That includes traditional Democrats, Independents, and individuals concerned with the current direction of the Republican Party.
In addition to smaller social gatherings, we meet monthly as a group on the 3rd Sunday from 3:00-5:00 pm. Go to our Events page to see the event and meeting schedules and locations.
Join us to meet and socialize with like-minded individuals.
APV Members Support Countywide Election Day Voting
Every Election Day in Denton County, thousands of legally registered voters (both Republicans and Democrats) are turned away from at least one polling place.
85% of Texas voters can vote at any polling place in their county for both Early Voting and Election Day, including Collin, Dallas, and Tarrant Counties, but in Denton County voters can only vote at their assigned precinct location on Election Day.
Denton County residents and election judges, including our APV president Rosemary Calderon, have been speaking at the Denton County Commissioners Court to make the case for countywide Election Day voting. Members of APV have been among the Denton County residents stand up to support the speakers as they present to the court.
